Issue 9 Matters to me....

 

Because......

1.      EDUCATION -- Our children deserve the best possible education we can give them.

2.      NO MORE CUTS -- Our schools already have significantly cut into programs and staffing, with district cuts totally approximately $9M since 2004. 

3.      MUSIC/FINE ARTS - I don't want the only music/fine arts education my children receive to come from their iPod/iPad.

4.      JOBS - I don't want to be responsible for approximately 100 friends, neighbors and excellent staff members losing their jobs.

5.      PROGRAMS - I don't want to lose important programs that are helping to prepare my child for college and life (ROTC, Jump Start, Advanced Placement, Media/Technology, Languages).

6.      PROPERTY VALUE - The value of my home has already dropped a lot due to the struggling economy.  I can't afford for it to drop any more.

7.      BUSING - I am unable to leave work to pick up my child from school every day at 2:30 in the afternoon.

8.      SPORTS - Paying this levy tax will be less than paying for my child to play sports (fees are slated to increase to $350-$500 per child/per sport).

9.      COMMUNITY - Lebanon is a great place to live with excellent schools and I want to support the continued vibrancy of my community.

10.   LAST CHANCE - This is the last chance for this levy to pass and if it fails, cuts will be made at the end of this school year.

 

 WHAT ARE YOUR REASONS?

 

Myth Buster

"Oh -- they'll make some cuts that won't affect my child and then they'll be back in the spring asking for less money." That is not the case.  These cuts will be made if the levy fails and will affect EVERY child in the district.  This is the absolute last chance to avoid these cuts at the end of this school year.   

 

Here's how I can make a difference                

1)      Register to vote (at least 50% of us are not)

2)      Use Absentee or early voting, which begins October 4
